Our man on the ground is up and awake!

He reports: “It’s a wet and windy day in Seattle, so for all you people wishing you were here, you’re not missing any weather!

It’ll take more than a bit of rain to dampen spirits though – it’s 7:30 and we’re already registered for today’s #XboxReveal event!

F1 car supremos McLaren revealled an interesting tidbit on their Facebook page: “Xbox is revealing something special. We think you might like what they’re announcing…” Our friends at IGN suggests this could be further evidence of a Forza announcement this evening. But it’s been a while since there was a Project Gotham Racing game.

Well, we can dream, can’t we?

3D Glasses? A new Kinect? These and other functions have all been created, at least in prototype form, for the next Xbox – at least according to The Wall Street Journal. That respected paper has published an interesting piece regarding Microsoft’s big announcement and how they may hope to compete with smartphones. Will any of these prototypes appear as part of the finished console this evening?

Over 170 GAME Stores will be opening their doors this evening to stream the Xbox Announcement. So why not head into store and experience the New Generation reveal with your fellow gamers, and you can cheer, discuss and bond together!

IGN are reporting that FIFA will be making their presence known at today’s reveal event. This comes from a tease on the FIFA Facebook Page that included the official #XboxReveal Hashtag.

FIFA has been making leaps and bounds in recent years anyway – just how good should we expect the next-gen version of virtual footie to be?

During Major Nelson’s latest podcast, Microsoft’s Interactive Entertainment Chief Aaron Greenberg revealed that tomorrow’s big reveal is part one of a two stage event.

“The best way I can describe it is, we’re really going to tell one story across two events. So we’re going to start on the 21st [of May] and really that’s about revealing the next Xbox platform and our vision for the future of games, the future of entertainment. We definitely have a lot of surprises planned.

“People are going to get a great inside look at the making of the new platform and the team that brought it to life. To be honest it’s really about the team, the people here. We’ve never done this before, so it’s really exciting to be able to do that.

“It’s a lot of laying the foundation, and then just a couple weeks later we go to E3, and E3 is all about the games. It’s going to be tons of exclusives world premieres.”

Could the the first game from Respawn Entertainment appear exclusively on the new Xbox? According to Kotaku, the debut title from Respawn – the studio headed by Call of Duty creators Jason West and Vince Zampella – will only be coming to the new Xbox (and possibly Xbox 360). Little is known about this new game, but Kotaku have their theories on this, too.

Could this be the first big name to sign up to Xbox exclusivity?

Excitement isn’t the only thing building at Xbox HQ as the days countdown to the New Generation reveal.

Thanks to tweets from Xbox’s Major Nelson and Aaron Greenberg, Microsoft have started to construct the home of the new Xbox Presentation. Not long to go now…

I think the new Xbox should have an easier way of transitioning quickly between gameplay and being able to communicate with teammates or friends. It would also be good if it was able to support many different kinds of controller, wired or otherwise. #GAMEXboxNews

  4. Clay 9:08 20/05/2013

  6. Gamer82 11:38 21/05/2013

  7. Paul Hurley 12:07 21/05/2013

Options on how to watch this exclusive

  8. Chewbacca 12:14 21/05/2013

It will be called the Xbox Infinity.

It will NOT have a Blue-Ray player.

It’s gpu etc will be a little lesser than the PS4.

The PS4 and Xbox Infinity will be not as powerful as a gaming PC from 4 year ago; making them outdated already.
For the price you will pay for a console: you might as well build a budget PC; games are far cheaper and more satisfying!

  9. Mosh 12:20 21/05/2013

    Can’t wait xbox for life!

  10. Gaz 12:21 21/05/2013

  15. Scarlett 2:17 21/05/2013

I am SUPER excited about this but I’m also really hoping we might actually see the -console- and not just the controller for this one (Ahem, Sony. ¬_¬)

  16. james 2:28 21/05/2013

roll on 6pm i cant wait for a look of whats to come

  17. lawrence 2:42 21/05/2013

cant wait to see the new Xbox 720…. based on x64 system and will have blu-ray

  18. Ricky Angel 2:48 21/05/2013

I’ll buy one the day it comes out regardless of what this announcement tells us… Its bound to be an improvement over the XBOX 360 (which is already the best console anyway) so it makes sense to have the latest and greatest. If you think about it the Xbox 360 will be 8 years old by the time the new Xbox launches. Assuming the new Xbox costs £600 then that works out at £6.25 per month over 8 years so it is a no brainer to buy one in my view…

  19. Bradley 3:17 21/05/2013

Less of a social aspect for me. I don’t wanna Facebook every game I play.

  20. Xobx 3:20 21/05/2013

    It’s REALLY happening!
